Getting Ready for the Kiosk? Here’s what you may need

kindy manager kiosk

The Kindy Manager Kiosk has now been completed and is now in its final testing phases, which is why you have a few things to plan for.

When purchasing a tablet to run the Kiosk, you will need it to be 9.7 inches or above with 32 Gb of memory, 2 GB RAM and 1.2 GHz processor. Meeting all of these requirements are the Samsung Tab A or above and the iPad 4 or above.

We would also recommend that you find a way to secure your tablet to the front desk where parents can easily access it. Multiple Kiosks can be used, and each one should have access to the internet.

Have a great week!

Have you set up your PRODA?

Hello and Happy New Year again from the Kindy Manager team!
We wanted to grab this chance to remind you to set up your Provider Digital Access or PRODA account from the Department of Human Services website by going to https://proda.humanservices.gov.au/pia/pages/public/registration/account/createAccount.jsf
As you probably already know, PRODA is a means to identify individuals who will be accessing the new CCS system, which is similar to how healthcare professionals (doctors, dentists, chemists, etc…) are identified. Therefore, we just wanted to remind you to set it up for all your staff members who will be accessing the system.
If you need any help setting up your PRODA, you can always contact the Department of Human Services (not your software provider).
Have a great week,
Kindy Manager

Jobs for Families -2-

Jobs for Families
July 2018

As we all know on July 2nd 2018 the new Child Care Integrated Technology System (CCITS) will take over from CCMS.  This doesn’t mean that the CCMS system will fall off the edge of the plant at midnight July 1.  You will still need to access CCMS for a further 28 days for any changes and after that it will still be available for viewing history.
Kindy Manager currently has two toolbars – the CCMS system (Orange) and all local Centre functions (Blue).  A third toolbar is being developed for the new CCITS system.  Shortly after the CCITS system takes over users will be given the option to display or hide the old CCMS toolbar.  This simple approach will allow users to have access to both systems from within the current Kindy Manager.
What is PRODA?
Provider Digital Access (PRODA) is an online authentication system used to securely access government online services.
All users of the new CCS system will need to create their own unique PRODA account.
Use the link below to find out more.

Jobs for Families

Jobs for Families
Childcare Package
July 2018

Many of us went along to an information session on the new Jobs for Families package and listened to the not so well rehearsed reading of the overhead slides.

No technical specifications have been released yet so software providers are unable to make a full assessment on development time lines and development costs.  However, the bottom line is that we all need to move over to the new Child Care Subsidy (CCS) system in July 2018.   To this end Kindy Manager will be ready and looking forward to the challenge.   For us, changes are normal.

Talking about changes.  Have you moved over to Kindy Manager 6 yet?  If you would like to do this before the new financial year please give us a call soon.  We have included the Booking and Accounts screen in Kindy Manager 6

Start Strong Long Day Care

Start Strong Long Day Care

In the 2017/2018 financial year, the NSW Government is introducing Start Strong Long Day Care funding.
Today we discuss how this will impact you and what you need to do.
What is it about?
Under this program, Long Day Care services in NSW will receive additional funding to support children aged four to five from low income or Aboriginal families.
This is to help increase access to early childhood education in the year before entering school.
How will funding be calculated?
Funding will be calculated based on enrollment data from the August 2016 collection period (no preschool hours in August 2016, no funding).
How can I do this in Kindy Manager?
Kindy Manager includes a Preschool Hours report which you can run to check the preschool hours included for specified week(s).
Have I been submitting my attendances with preschool hours?
All Long Day Care Centres who provide a preschool program delivered by a qualified educator should already be submitting attendances with preschool hours specified.
You will be able to check this in your Accounts screen. The preschool hours will be indicated by the wording preschool and have the nominated hours against it
Help! I haven’t been submitting my preschool hours?
If your centre is NOT doing this and there are no preschool hours included in attendances uploaded for August 2016, you can still be considered for funding under this new program.
Or you are not sure if you have been doing this.
Don’t worry, please call us on 07 5594 0519 and we will check with you.
What next?
Ongoing, preschool hours should be reported on all attendances on a weekly basis.
If added to each eligible child’s bookings, the preschool hours will be included automatically when fees are generated.

Is there something you’d like to know more about?

Send us an email and let us know, we’d love to hear from you.
